The Pyramids of Giza

Only one of the ancient wonders of the world still exist today. The Pyramids are a tribute to the Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt but also to the men who built them. They managed to build structures using only man power that would last thousands of years. The Pyramids are full of Hieroglyphics that tell stories about the Egyptians. They are huge tombs built to hold the Pharaohs posessions as he journeyed to the afterlife. The Egyptians built pyramids because they thought the triangular form would reflect the suns rays towards the sky bringing the soul of the dead man closer to the heavens. Pharaohs were mummified before they were buried so that they would remain high up in stature in the afterlife. After the Pyramids were finished the workers were thrown in and the entrances were sealed so that grave robbers could not get into the gold-filled tomb.
