Macchu Picchu

Macchu Pichu was discovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham. It is built 8000 feet high deep in the Andes mountains. It truly is a city in the clouds. The citiy's history is shrouded in mystery as it is one of the only cities of the Incas that has no documentation, pictures or stories surrounding it. It literally is a lost city. What amazes people even more is how the Incas built the city so high up using only stone tools! In 1983 it was declared a world heritage site in order to protect the ruins. Tourist trek every year on the famous incan trail to visit the ancient village.
